Clocks and new PA speakers installed in every classroom, hallways
August 27, 2015
After two months of drilling holes, stringing endless yards of wire through conduits, and installing hanger frames, contractors put the finishing touches on the new digital clock system at Bishop Blanchet.
In every classroom and hallway, in both of the gyms and the cafeteria, the digital clocks will all be in synch. Gone is the excuse that you are late because the clock upstairs told you you had four more minutes.
Each of the clocks also comes with a new speaker for prayer and announcements. The volume will be uniform throughout the building. Gone are the rooms where you could barely hear what was being said.
The massive PA system in the main office that has been in service for the past 60 years will also be scraped. In its place is a system that looks more like a phone than a primitive mixing board. Five of these broadcasting terminals in offices throughout the building.
Throughout the building, the original speakers and clocks are still on the walls. No word on when they will be removed.
