Varsity Volleyball Continues to Prosper

The Varsity Volleyball Team have shown their strength and persistence throughout the season and their 9-2 record is proof of this.

Jen Berard, Head Coach, has led them to victory in almost all of their games. The team gives their all in every game and with Berards  guidance has been able to make strategic plays. All the work they put in is sure to carry them to the playoffs with just four regular season games left.

Outside hitter, Claire Ramquist, reveals the reason why the team has been able to have such a successful season.

“Our team has been doing really well with communication which unites us as a team and makes us a million times stronger” said Ramquist.

They are able to help the team by communicating and giving advice to each other on how to improve so they team improves as a result.

There is one freshman, Maura Mansker,  who made it onto the Varsity team. She is an outside hitter and defensive specialist.

Her skills have not disappointed the team. Senior Kaitlin Flinn is extremely supportive of Mansker.

“Maura Mansker has adjusted right away to varsity pace and is all around a steady player” said Flinn. The intensity level of this team is high and hard for many to handle but Mansker has been tackling the challenge head on successfully.

As the season continues, the pressure elevates for the girls. The next game they’re playing is against rival, Seattle Prep, on Tuesday, October 22. They had a disappointing loss to Prep earlier in the season. This doesn’t seem to phase the team.

“Were prepared and ready to take them on once again, we have experienced how the team plays and will be able to better adapt” said Hana McFarland, right side hitter.

They are eager to settle the score and show the Panthers what the Braves can do.
