As COVID-19 restricts everyday activities, hit CW show The Vampire Diaries prospers amongst a wide ranging audience.

Although the award winning series premiered in 2009 and ended in 2017, many teens have dedicated their quarantine to rewatching the epic saga. The Vampire Diaries, starring Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder and many more exceptional actors, takes place in Mystic Falls, Virginia, where protagonist Elena Gilbert discovers she is a part of a supernatural world.

“What I love about this show is that it never gets boring” said senior Claire Ramquist “I am always on the edge of my seat and there is guaranteed a plot twist or cliff hanger every episode”.

Initially, Elena is introduced to Stefan, the new boy in town, who she soon is shocked to find out is a vampire. The two fall in love and face conquests of the supernatural world, the loss of loved ones and even a love triangle between themselves and Stefan’s older brother, Damon.

As the show progresses, the plot expounds. Their journey becomes ruthless as problems gain more complexity and new characters, both good and bad, are introduced. As suspense builds greater with each episode, the show will rest assured to keep your attention through it all.

“My favorite character is Damon”, said Ramquist “I love how he is a bad boy yet deep down is very sensitive”.

The Vampire Diaries is most commonly known for its brilliant cast. The stars consist of talent, good looks and passion, which truly brings the show to life in a way that is unprecedented. The character development of each individual makes you feel like you are friends with the characters, giving the eminently fictional show a sense of realism.

The Vampire Diaries can be streamed on Netflix, Amazon and DirectTV. If you are intrigued by mystery, action, thrill and a little bit of twisted romance, this is the show for you.
