Jazz Alley Takes a Concert Experience to the Next Level

Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley located in downtown Seattle transports concertgoers into a state of serene sensual bliss with music and food in its warm and intimate setting.

I had the opportunity to attend a Jazz Alley event for two time Grammy award winning vocalist Peabo Bryson; you may know his voice from Disney works such as “A Whole New World” and “Beauty and the Beast”.

Upon arrival, we were granted with validated parking in a neighboring garage beside the venue. Entering the venue spectators enter into a bright forey before stepping foot downstairs into the dimly lit restaurant area. Inside the venue, Jazz Alley offers a wide variety of seating options ranging from different size tables and seating levels for all to enjoy the music. Candles lit the room as waiters in black bustled around serving tables with drinks and appetizers filling the lively atmosphere.

In addition to the show, dinner is also served during the duration of the concert. The menu offers a variety of Northwest cuisine and includes vegetarian, gluten-free, and non-dairy options. The table shared the Mediterranean Meze, a plate with tzatziki, olive tapenade and hummus served with warm pita and freshly cut vegetables. For the entree, the savory Seafood Pasta which includes prawns, scallops, salmon, and mussels over spaghetti in a delectable white wine sauce was delicious. And lastly for dessert, the chocolate gelato was a sweet end note to the dining experience.

Bryson’s voice was lovely and nostalgic for many in the audience. Accompanied by his band members, with two amazing vocalists singing backup and singing occasional duets with Bryson that would move the audience; the show was outstanding to say the least.

Jazz Alley has frequent shows and the Alley Cat mailing group.
