“Lyin’ Eyes”, The Eagles
You know when the sun is beaming and windows are down in your car, but you just don’t know what song to play? Well, look no further, because this band has you covered. The prominent 70’s band, Eagles, have a number of summer classics, but one is above all others: it’s called, ‘Lyin’ Eyes’. The simple, groovy sound of the song proves to be a crowd pleaser for all – even your parents and grandparents. This timeless single will have you singing with your friends, while keeping spirits high, and who doesn’t want that? If you don’t know what to play after that, don’t worry, you can just hit repeat.

“It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere”, Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett
This song is the perfect match for chilling by the lake with your pals. It’s all about having a blast and not worrying about anything. You know, just enjoying each other’s company, laughing at jokes, and watching the sunset. It’s like the song’s saying, “Hey, it’s okay to kick back and have fun!” It adds to the good vibes of hanging out with friends on a summer evening, making it even more awesome.

“Love Song”, The Cure
“Lovesong” by The Cure is a timeless tune that encapsulates the spirit of summer. The song was released in 1989 with the band’s 8th studio album, “Disintegration”. It was a massive hit, shown by its appearance at number 2 on the Billboard Top 100.
The Cure is a band from West Sussex, England whose musical style is often categorized as new wave or alternative rock. Though they often blur the lines of popular genres, their music is comparable to bands like Oasis, The Verve, and Fleetwood Mac. The Cure has an incredible discography, which I recommend everyone to listen to this summer.

“Doin’ Time”, Sublime
With the summer season around the corner, nearly everybody is in a light-hearted spirit for the warmer weather. When thinking about summer you typically think of sunshine and good vibes, and a surefire way of achieving this is through a solid playlist. When basking in the warm sun it’s only fitting to play some summertime classics. I’d recommend unwinding to either some reggae or Sublime. “Doin’ Time” by Sublime is a great song to blast in your car this summer.

“Too Sweet”, Hozier
Hozier’s third album Unreal Unearth, received an add-on containing four new songs that never made it into the original release in Unreal Unearth: Unheard, which was released on March 22nd, seven months after the original album was released. Arguably the most popular song in this bonus track was “Too Sweet”, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on April 27th. The tune has definitely become an earworm in both die hard Hozier fans and casual radio listeners. I’m seeing his concert in September, and I can’t wait to hear it live.
