Winter sports season is finally here! Starting November 18, students can get involved in basketball, flag football, wrestling, men’s swim and dive, and ultimate frisbee. It’s a great chance to stay active, make friends, and have fun while representing our school.
Basketball and flag football are kicking things off with tryouts, November 18. These tryouts will help the coaches pick the teams for this season. Students trying out will need to show their skills, determination, and teamwork.
Meanwhile, practices for wrestling, men’s swim and dive, and ultimate frisbee also start the same day. These sports are open to all students with any experience level. These are perfect sports for anyone who wants to try something new or keep improving in a sport they already like.
Around the school, there’s a lot of excitement about this year’s winter sports season. Coaches are excited and ready to help teams grow and succeed, and students are eager to show what they can do.
Sophomore Charlie Souder, an athlete of the men’s swim and dive, shared,“I’m looking forward to being active within the Blanchet community and competing with other schools.”
Alice Wilkinson, JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach, shared, “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to restructure our program to better our players as athletes and strong young women.”
Whether it’s competing in a sport or cheering on the sidelines, winter sports are a great way to bring our school community together.
Good luck to all the athletes starting their season this year. Let’s make it one to remember!
