Seniors: Keep Your Eyes on the Prize, and Hold On
February 25, 2015
Senioritis is a typical phenomenon that can be described as a condition of feeling lackadaisical and dismissive at school. This “condition” sweeps through the halls of Bishop Blanchet every year.
After college acceptance letters come rolling in, homework assignments and tests seem less of a priority, and having a social life seems to be the only importance.
Now that seniors are at their last stretch of our high school careers, seniors begin to show a pattern of absences, lack of studying, and unproductive work time. The repercussions of senioritis are discouraging. Once a student enrolls into college, slacking off is not an option.
This mindset might influence a student to believe that their grades for second semester of the year aren’t as important.
If a student fails a class, there is a probability that walking at graduation may not be an option.
The ultimate cure for senioritis is the desire to actually graduate.
So in the meantime, use these tips to boost your work drive and wait for the golden diploma.
- Plan ahead
- Picture yourself as a college student in training
- Get rid of bad study habits
- Think long term
- Just do it
- Take a deep breath and have fun!
