Changes await students arrival in September

When the hallways begin to fill with students at the end of August, they will be standing in a sea of changes.  Chances are, however, they may not notice.

A little noticed storage room that once bordered the elevator has become the new portal to the Robotics lab, providing much-needed work space.

Of course, the obvious will hit them. Facilities director Valdimir Firsov and his crew have the 60 year old building looking young again, as the deep cleaning and floor waxing that goes on every summer will have happened.

Travel up to the third floor, however, and you will see that  room 304, home to the award winning robotics team, has been expanded to include the tiny storage room 302 in a classroom, manifest destiny-like move.

Scattered throughout the second and third floors, twenty classrooms have lost the sixty-year old green desks, host to every Brave bottom since the school was founded.

Expect fewer iPad mishaps with the disappearance of the tilted desk top.

When the first day of classes comes, you might notice a strange sound  dragging you to your first class. The technology department, headed by Ms. Laura Meaux, installed a  new bell system,  as well as new clocks.

Room 204, home to Mr. Grasseschi's and Ms. Palasz's English classes and a sophomore CP, has new received a shipment of new desks.

As the new clocks tick to 8:00 a.m. and  the new bells sound for the beginning of class, morning prayer will come to us through a new public address system.
