Tired of all the places you normally eat at? Want something new? Try the Cheesemonger in downtown Edmonds!
The Cheesemonger is one of the most popular spots in downtown Edmonds, located in Old Milltown’s Hazel Plaza stocked with pounds of amazing, delicious cheese.
The first thing you see when walking in the door is the restaurant’s modern/ friendly decor, while immediately smelling the aroma of fresh cheese and bread. The tables are wooden with little flowers on the tables adding simplicity.
There are white boards above the main counter with the menu so you can take your pick of any delicious entree that sounds intriguing to you.
To the left is the Cheesemonger and to the right is the resturaunt. The Cheesemonger is a bucket of fresh cheeses ready for you to pick. Next to it includes a little store containing history and news articles of their cheese, along with tasty crackers that will go great with any cheese. The restaurant contains kitchen with fresh produce.
The workers are friendly, constantly helping you with your every need. The seating is both inside and out. The outside seating includes two tables and a type of booth with orange chairs facing the street. The inside seating contains plenty of comfortable chairs next to the windows seating groups of 1-5.
“It’s got great theme, location, and it’s cheap!” said customer Lilly Campbell.
The Cheesemonger has been in the Edmonds community since 2002. The restaurant opened their doors in 2012. The restaurant and cheesemonger are all in one building and combined. The restaurant has many loyal customers that visits the spot everyday.
Loyal customer Lauren Augustavo said, “I love it here! It’s honestly one of my favorite places to eat!”
The Cheesemonger has an extensive variety of 100 high quality cheeses.They take pride in their selection. Some of the cheese’s include: Ricotta, Brie, Camembert, Stilton, Cantal, Gouda, Cheshire, Appenzeller, Cheddar, Swiss Emmental.
“(This place) has the best grilled cheese I’ve ever tasted,” said Campbell.
They also have several different types of soups such as: the soup of the day and homemade tomato soup; sandwiches like: “The Ol’ Smokey sandwich containing smoked monterey jack” and the “The table twist on a “BLT.” And salads including: “The better wedge” and “The Table Cobb Salad.” The Cheesemonger uses their own cheese in all sandwiches and salads.
The building is open Monday – Saturday from, 11am-7pm and Sunday from 12pm – 5pm.
So try something new and get out of your comfort zone… you will not regret it.
