On the road again… to playoffs!
January 5, 2016
With the ending of the regular season on Sunday January 3rd, it was apparent that the Seattle Seahawks meant business when they stepped out on the field in their game against NFC West leading team, the Arizona Cardinals.
The Hawks rang out the end of their season by beating the Cardinals 36-6, the most that the Cardinals have been scored on the entire 2015 season.
Not only does the win against the Cardinals give additional hope for the playoff road ahead, it also led to numerous titles that the team and certain players received from accumulating stats.
Russell Wilson, Seahawks starting quarterback, ended the season with a bang with his recent title of being the first NFL quarterback to achieve 4,000 passing yards, 500 running yards and over 30 touchdown passes.
Wilson is not the only star of the Seahawks, despite being the obviously leader of the team, the “Legion of Boom”, Seahawks defense, has ranked 1st for the past four consecutive years for least amount of points allowed.
Despite early rough patches within team dynamic and the loss of influential players through the season due to injury, the team has managed to squeeze their way into a Wildcard seeding for the 2016 playoffs.
According to the Seahawks official online website, former NFL coach Brian Billick believes that the Seahawks are, “the team no one wants to face,” coming into the 2016 playoffs.
With the dynamic “Legion of Boom” defense, constructive forces of Russell Wilson and his offensive line and two appearances in the Super Bowl in two years under the Hawks belt, the team is clearly one to be feared.
Despite the hard-earned playoff seeding for the Seahawks, that does not mean it gets any easier from here for the team.
They will be facing some difficult competition and adversity as they play every game away from home and need to win all 3 playoff games in order to make it to Super Bowl 50.
With their first playoff game, Sunday January 10th, against the Minnesota Vikings in Minnesota, the Hawks surely have their work cut out for them.
Fortunately for the Hawks, they will once again have their unstoppable force, Marshawn Lynch or Beast Mode, back for their first round playoff game.
“He’s ready to go,” says head coach, Pete Carroll, to ESPN online in regards to Lynch’s return from abdominal surgery mid season.
The Hawks have been preparing for their shot again to return back to the Super Bowl and this team surely knows how to be on the up and up and work harder than ever to get there.
An unstoppable team no doubt, will we be seeing the Seattle Seahawks back in Super Bowl 50?
