Will this be the year for Leo?
February 22, 2016
With the Oscars coming on February 28, the movie theaters are packed with nominated films. One of these, The Revenant, stars Leonardo DiCaprio.
While receiving 44 awards from other associations, DiCaprio has never won an Academy Award. Eating an animal liver raw and bearing extreme weather, DiCaprio dove into his lead role in The Revenant.
Junior Kyle Moore viewed the film and said, “Leonardo DiCaprio did an amazing job of illustrating the horrors of the wilderness. He deserves an Oscar this year.”
The emotional performance sparked the attention of the Academy Awards as well. DiCaprio is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role. The last time he was nominated for this award was in 2005 for the movie The Aviator. He has been honored with 6 nominations over the years.
DiCaprio also starred in the memorable movie Titanic. Costar Kate Winslet was awarded for her performance as Rose, but DiCaprio was not nominated.
Winslet spoke about her once costar saying, “It’s probably going to be Leo’s year.”
The internet has been overwhelmed by tweets and posts about DiCaprio’s nomination. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that it is time for an Oscar for Leo.
