As track season starts, Meron Girma sets long goals

Winter’s gone, and spring is finally here.  That means the 2016 girls track season has officially started.

Junior Meron Girma, a three-year track participant,i s ready for a great season and her first meet against Bellevue, taking place on March 18, 2016.

This season, Girma will be throwing both the discus and shot put, being pushed by her new coaches.

To prepare for the spring season, Girma has participated in pre-season practices and workouts with her coaches. Since the season has started the coaches have been pushing everyone’s limits to work harder in practice and in the weight room.

“I am very motivated this season,” said Girma. “I think that my goal would be to beat my personal records and have a successful season.”
