Versatility is the name of Glennie’s game

Tucked away in Haggerty hall, you’ll find the very energetic, enthusiastic, and crazy-fun Mr. Gabe Glennie. Glennie has an assortment of different duties around BBHS and even at other schools.

Glennie has been teaching for almost seven years now, and he’s loving it. While his main priority is Blanchet, he also teaches the band programs for Christ the King and St. Matthews.

“I love working for nonprofit organizations that are focused on bettering the community,” said Glennie. “Getting the opportunity to work with kids everyday and help them move forward in their lives makes teaching one of the best jobs on the planet Earth.”

Glennie is a Washington native, having graduated from Edmonds-Woodway High School in 1992. He has a very impressive college resume; an Associates degree from Shoreline Community College, a BA in Music as well as a BA in English Literature from Western, and an MA in Education from City University, Seattle.

Currently Glennie is working on Blanchet’s own Filament Wire’s newest album, mixing each and every song to assure great sound and feeling for the listener.

“The album is going to be great,” said Glennie. It has taken a lot of work to get the mixes just right. I am hopeful that I will be done with it by the end of this week!”

Glennie plays the bass for the band during music assemblies and works the audio for almost everything else. He also teaches audio engineering, which is a class offered by BBHS. In this course, students learn how to mix, loop, and create all kinds of different music using computers.

With all the teaching aside, Glennie still finds to do what he loves with whom he loves. His two mini Australian Shepherds. Thats right, he loves going on road trips, hikes, and exploring with his two best friends.
