Nervous to attend high school but looking forward to a fresh start, freshman Amelia Tiesi was an eager 8th grader just a year ago .

Before coming to Blanchet, Tiesi attended a Catholic grade school in Bryant called Assumption St. Bridget (ASB). Many of her friends from ASB were coming to Blanchet with her but she was still nervous for her first day.

She had wanted to go to Blanchet, having knowledge that her cousins attended and her dad as well as her aunt and she knew that they enjoyed it.

Coming into her first day, Tiesi was very excited because it was something new. She wanted to branch out and make new friends that she would be spending time with for the next four years.

Having played soccer at her grade school, Tiesi decided that she would try out for the high school team. As tryouts started the first couple days of school, she was nervous but hoped to make the team. The results came back and she found out that she didn’t just make the team but she made the Junior Varsity team instead of the freshman team.

“I thought it was a great way to make friends,” said Tiesi, “I also love to play soccer so I thought that I would try, I didn’t know that I would end up making JV!”

Amelia loves the academics at Blanchet and says that her favorite subject would have to be Spanish because she loves the teacher, Señora Rodriguez.

“I think that I made the right choice for a high school,” said Tiesi, “it is academically my level and I’ve made great connections, I am very happy that I chose Blanchet!”

She believes that the biggest advantage to going to Blanchet is the loving community. When Blanchet is at a mass or an assembly you can feel the unity and sense of community.

The only thing that she would change about Blanchet is the food. Tiesi thinks that the food is something that can be greatly improved.

Overall, Tiesi is happy at Blanchet and is so glad that she made the right choice for her high school experience.
