Temperatures Rising, Animals Disappearing, What Is Going On?
September 15, 2016
There are animals of all shapes and sizes disappearing from our earth, and humans may be the ones to blame.
Despite overwhelming scientific evidence to support the claim, there are individuals, organizations, and indeed nations that do not believe global warming. This is almost as alarming as impact the phenomenon is having on our planet.
The earth is changing and organisms populations are fluctuating along with it. The endangered species list continues to grow at alarming rates.
The human population is increasing at rate which almost matches the disappearance rate of species.
While humans cause deforestation around the world, we are not are the animals losing homes and food sources because of it.
Animals such as pandas (which actually just got off the endangered species list), monkeys, gorillas, turtles, rhinos, fish, tigers and many other different types of species are rapidly appearing on the endangered species list. The effects of one species dying off can cause horrible repercussions to our planet, specifically the world’s ecosystem.
The ecosystem is a precious pyramid of life and when you mess with it more animals and species can die off. For instance, the Honey Bee. Bees make honey, pollinate flowers and other plants that grow food for all organisms, including humans. If bees were to die off the repercussions would be horrendous. Such a small form of life impacts our world greatly. Every flower, plant and tree that depends on pollen would die off, killing sources of shelter and food.
Every organism in the ecosystem matters and is vital to the earth’s rehabilitation. So what are we doing about it?
Well, there are organizations helping some animals on the endangered species list, like the World Wide Life Organization, which collects volunteers to watch over and rehabilitate animals species.
More can be done.
It can simply start at home by the amount of water you use and how you treat your planet.
Keeping trash out of the oceans and recycling plastics for reusable purposes.
Most importantly, limit what we use to only what is necessary. Don’t use more natural resources than you need, like paper or plastic. Deforestation is the number one reason for organisms showing up on the endangered species list, and with the growing faster than ever before deforestation has become a problem.
With the world’s help we can give animals the ability to keep their homes and stay alive.
