On campus this week, Santa wears a hard hat.

A quick trip to campus this week may make you think of June, if it weren’t so cold.
Both this week and next, contractors and subcontractors alike are laying the ground work, quite literally, for this summer’s construction project.
On Monday Dec 19th, Jackhammers replaced the sounds of morning prayer and announcements as a crew dug a trench from the boiler room to the Ernie Rose Gym. It may have been the one day all year that the neighbors would have preferred to hear screaming, yelling teenagers.
The trench will run heating pipes and electrical work out to the new construction area in preparation of the summer project.
That project begins the moment the last student walks out the door in June and goes full force through the summer. The summer will bring a new boiler, a revamping of the cafeteria, and changes to the Ernie Rose gym.
All power to the building will turned off on Thursday. In the midst of Christmas break, we don’t need to say this, but avoid coming to school. It’s a nightmare.
