The Need for Medicaid

Kelly McGinnis, Editor

Trump’s presidency has begun and already, dozens of media sights and citizens are worried. Disregarding all personal opinion, the Miter feels it’s our duty to educate.

Recently, Trump signed an executive order about healthcare or more specifically, repealing Obamacare. Obamacare, officially known as Affordable Care Act, for those who don’t know, is a healthcare plan for those who cannot afford funds; it’s supposed to fix unaffordable surgeries, medications, etc. Trump has made this his first priority during the beginning of his term, although repealing Medicaid is a scary thought, Obamacare was never meant to be a permanent thing. Obamacare was created to take a step in the right direction to find a permanent solution for healthcare. This doesn’t necessarily mean that Obamacare is the best solution for healthcare.

As your reliable source, we want to point out several things that we believe to be significant. First, Trump’s priorities. Trump has created an agenda reflecting his priority for this country and he has made healthcare one of the most important. Second, keep your eyes out for Trump’s new and approved healthcare plan, but no matter what the next solution is, it comes from Congress not the president. It’s the president’s duty is to suggest, not reform. Trump is simply starting the process to make change. Whether or not you agree with it, is up to you.
