Superstar Matthew Campbell Kicks for Life
May 8, 2017
Junior Matthew Campbell has been playing soccer for twelve years. At the tender age of five, Campbell began playing organized soccer in his neighborhood.
Now, as the Center Back for the Blanchet JV Boys’ Soccer team, Campbell still shares the same love for the game that he did as a novice player.
“I’ve been immersed in the game since I was born,” said Campbell. “It’s a sport that I’ve always been involved with because the love for it runs in my family.”
Junior Left Back Jack Deane has had quite a bit of experience working with Campbell and has really enjoyed it.
“As a player, Matty is a great leader,” said Deane. “We’ve been playing soccer together since the 4th grade, he has always been very vocal and has communicated well on every team.”
Assistant JV Coach Greg Shanahan notes what strengths Campbell brings to the table by playing on the JV team.
“Campbell is a great role model for the underclassmen on the team,” said Shanahan. “He is always very quick to step up and shut down opposing players in our side of the field.”
The Braves play Lakeside at Lakeside this Monday, May 1st, at 4 PM.
