Last year, the world was blown away by the girl who walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage with her ukulele, and completely stole the show. Singer Grace Vanderwaal immediately had the hearts of all 4 judges and ended up winning the show.

Ever since, Vanderwaal’s career has skyrocketed. From performing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, there has been no lack of opportunities for Vanderwaal to showcase her music.

When I first watched Vanderwaal’s America’s Got Talent audition performance, I was amazed. Her raspy voice, and her funky character instantly intrigued me and I have been a fan ever since. For her audition, she sang an original song called “I Don’t Know My Name” which is featured on her debut album Perfectly Imperfect.

The album consists of 10 original songs. I personally am a huge fan of the album. It’s the perfect mix of upbeat, and slow songs. One thing that really stuck out to me was how she portrayed her own emotions into the songs. She sang about crafting your own life of success, and her intense emotion surrounding a crush. You really get to know Grace as a person through this album which is refreshing to see from a young artist.

I am excited to see where Vanderwaal goes in her career. As such a young artist with this much success already, it is truly impressive to see how far she has already come. She is certainly on the way to becoming the new Taylor Swift.
