The boys varsity baseball team had a successful win against Nathan Hale last Thursday, April 15th. The team has continued to improve in their skills and it has really shown in their standings having won a majority of their games.

“Our pitching and defense was outstanding. We turned a couple huge double plays to get out of bases loaded jams” said senior captain Simon Serwold about their game against Hale. “Something we learned from that game is that we need to work on our hitting against pitchers who throw a little firmer and who have good secondary pitches”

Even when faced with a challenging opponent, they still pulled through and won the game 1-0.

“We played great defense vs Hale. We turned 3 couple plays which turned out to be the difference in the game. Luke Rican and Cody Dreis did a great job pitching” said Head Coach Mike Finnegan.

Even with the recent rainy weather conditions, the team have continued to play tough and not let that stop them. They are hoping to finish the season off strong with only 5 more games left in the regular season. Their next game is vs Cleveland at Bishop Blanchet at 4 pm.
