Senior’s Checking Off the “To-Do” Lists for Prom
May 14, 2018
The Brave’s senior class has been preparing and checking off the “to-do” list for their senior prom, which is on Saturday, May 5th at the Fremont Foundry.
There is a lot of preparation that takes place when getting ready for prom night and there is a different “to-do” list for the girls and boys.
To start off with the girls, the first step is finding the perfect dress. Many girls start looking months in advance because dress shopping can be a long process when trying to figure out what color and style to get.
“I started looking for my dress in January,” said senior Cameron Griffin. “I am so glad I did because I had to get my dress altered so it would fit better.”
After finding the dress, shoes comes next. Finding a pair of “comfortable” heels that allow for walking and dancing all night can sometimes seem like an impossible task.
“I have never found a comfortable pair of heels,” said senior Olivia Zumdieck, “I just find a pair that look cute and match my dress.”
The day of prom is when all of the beauty appointments are scheduled. Normally, nails are in the morning and then hair and makeup is scheduled a few hours before pictures so it does not wear off during the day and looks fresh.
Boys have a different list of things that need to have accomplished. To start off, the most important thing to accomplish is figuring out who to ask to prom and then coming up with a creative way on popping the question, “Will you go to prom with me?”
Once “finding a date” has been checked off,” next step is getting fitted for a tux and then a couple weeks before prom night, picking it up and making sure that it fits perfectly.
About a week before prom, a haircut is a necessity to make sure hair is looking slick.
On the day of prom, guys have a task of showering, shaving, and get dressed in their new tux.
“And of course you have to practice smiling in the mirror for a good ten minutes,” said senior Will Fleming.
The “to-do” list for prom ensures that everyone is going to be looking good and ready to take on their senior prom as a class.
